Supply Chain Planning Manager

We are currently looking for a Supply Chain Planning Manager to join our London, Ontario Business Unit.  The Supply Chain Planning Manager is responsible for planning and delivering optimal inventory to service customer demand. Key Responsibilities:  

  • Build the rolling full year production plan to support plant, material, and capacity forecasts in response to demand forecast changes, new product opportunities and other sales and customer requirements
  • Finalize the monthly production plan in accordance with the operating calendar and share the plan with the plant schedulers to convert into a finite production schedule
  • Continuously monitor inventory levels and adjust the monthly production plan where necessary to ensure desired inventory levels
  • Maximizing service levels and minimizing inventory obsolescence risk
  • Plan WIP production for co-pack products and co-ordinate with co-packing partner and logistics, operations and warehouse teams, to schedule and execute the co-packing process
  • Liaise with sales, marketing, new product planning and other cross-functional teams to understand and analyze demand patterns, providing feedback where required to ensure more accurate forecasting
  •  Work with new product planning team to regularly review upcoming launches and provide supply chain input on available production slots, capacity, timelines, and trade-offs required to finalize the launch plan
  • Build the inventory requirement by location plan for products imported from Lawlers' and ACC, coordinate production at Atlanta and Humble plants with the respective supply planning managers, and issue POs to ship stocks produced in full-truckload quantities
  •  Work closely with the distribution planning team to ensure correct inventory deployment across the 3PL network, reviewing possible gaps and shortages, and mitigation plans to maintain high service   levels.  Establish and continuously develop new processes, systems, and reports to improve supply chain planning process maturity, leading to the ultimate deployment of a robust Sales & Operations   Planning process
  • Present updated inventory dashboards at the Weekly Availability Review with senior leadership
  • Bringing up key concerns, mitigation plans, trade-offs required and what-if scenarios, to forge a consensus action plan
  • Analyze shortages with root causes from the previous week for presentation at the Weekly Service Level meeting, including service levels for top customers and overall business
  • Serve as supply chain planning subject matter expert for upcoming implementation of new ERP modules for the business
  • Collaborate with Senior Supply Chain Planning Manager to build and analyze medium and long-range capacity models to guide long-term capacity expansion projects for various product categories 

Position Requirements

  •  Post-secondary education bachelor or masters or specific demand/supply/inventory planning advanced diploma (specialized)
  • Association memberships such as APICS, ISM, SCC, CSCMP
  • APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) 
  • 4-7 years or demand, supply or inventory planning experience in a manufacturing environment 
  •  Strong preference for prior experience in consumer goods, food and beverage, or a similar fast paced environment 
  •  Track record of designing and implementing new supply chain processes to continuously improve business outcomes, efficiency, and effectiveness
  •  Excellent knowledge of supply chain concepts, tools, processes, and constraints, with a focus on supply planning, plant operations, scheduling, and inventory management 
  • Excellent demonstrated math, statistical and analytical thinking skills 
  • Enterprise level understanding of value chain, costs, break even, best operating levels, cost, revenue 
  • Expert excel user with ability to build models, dashboards, production plans and analyses on spreadsheets, comfortable using Vlookup, pivots, index-matching and similar functions, ability to write macros is a plus 
  • Experience using at least 1 advanced ERP system with knowledge of supply planning and inventory modules (Eg. SAP APO, Oracle, JDA, Microsoft Navision etc.)
  • Familiarity with BI database tools, including ability to write SQL queries to extract information from databases
  • Experienced using MS Word, Power Point, Outlook and similar MS Office applications 
  •  Works independently and owns the role, taking accountability for deliverables and outcomes. Goes over and beyond to ensure execution of plans in coordination with other teams
  •  Must be a continuous learner that anticipates changes in requirements and adjusts plans to address or equip
  •  Must be an effective communicator of clear facts and requirements
  •  Must be able to distill data into clear set of needs, actions and plans
  •  Must have fundamental level understanding of the enterprise (sales, production, distribution, materials, financials)

  • Disciplined planning and organizing skills for self, cross functionally anticipating requirements and deadlines
  •  Comfortable engaging frequently with senior leadership and outlining key highlights, tradeoffs, and decisions, articulating the reasoning behind choices made and the pros and cons of each scenario
  • Able to manage competing objectives and conflict to achieve optimized results

Other Key Considerations: Occasional travel to visit Delta manufacturing plant
