Job Purpose and Impact

The Formulation Specialist will formulate product according to agreed product matrix. In this role, you will use formulation software for all production runs in the factory and balance efficiently the technical constraints, cost of formulation and raw material use according to supply plan. You will use and develop your skills to build on your formulation knowledge.

Key Accountabilities

• Conduct continuous improvement and project work that aims to improve operations at the factory.
• Ensure a safe and secure workplace by taking an active part in improvements and proper behavior.
• Collaborate with other teams to achieve efficient operation and ensure high customer delivery.
• Plan and optimize production within the framework of logistics and orders, including prioritizing accurate and efficient use of machines time according to orders.
• Update formulation software with available raw material data, retrieving information from relevant sources, and reporting.
• Formulate and ensure the products are manufactured in accordance with applicable requirements and specifications.
• Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate or bachelor’s degree in a related field  (science, biology, chemistry, animal nutrition) OR equivalent experience
• Minimum of two years of related work experience
• Animal nutrition knowledge
• Ability to work from home as business needed.
• Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada 

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or other post-secondary degree
• Animal nutrition formulation knowledge
• Prior experience in nutrition or feed production
• Experience in complex software systems and biological knowledge of raw material characteristics
