Dessert Holdings is looking for a Full-Time Production / Relief Team Lead to join our team based in London, ON. This individual will provide leadership, direction, coaching, and training to production personnel. They are responsible and accountable for performance standards and ensure company policy, procedures, and duties are followed and maintained at all times. Team leads are role models for performance excellence.
(Please note that this is a Relief Team Lead position. This means that while you will primarily be working on the production line as a production worker, you will step into a Team Lead role only when needed, such as during scheduled or unscheduled absences of the regular team lead.)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: (This is a full-time production role that provides Team Lead backup when needed)
- Work on the production line in a variety of roles (Depositing, Decorating and Packaging) to produce our high-quality cake products.
- Lead production in exact accordance with the product specifications, task sheets and visual standards.
- Support the production team in achieving daily production yields, efficiency and productivity targets.
- Ensure all paperwork is kept in order, completed properly and submitted on time.
- Maintain the highest quality & safety standards, adhering to all GMPs, Policies and Procedures.
- Ensure the area is kept clean and tidy at all times, to prevent potential contamination and/or injury.
- Prepare QA samples and documentation as needed.
- Liaise with relevant personnel on equipment repairs as needed to prevent and minimize downtime.
- Support the training, coaching and development of team members.
- Ensure the overall efficiency and productivity of the operation is maintained at a high standard.
- Help keep downtime, material and time wastage to a minimum.
- Ensure changeovers are smooth with minimal downtime and all time accounted for.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; technical degree is a plus.
- Must be legally eligible to work full-time in Canada.
- 1-2 years of experience working as a team lead in a continuous process manufacturing environment, preferably food or pharmaceutical.
- Have strong communication, oral, written and comprehension skills
- Be able to support team members in working towards conflict resolution
- Be able to work quickly, under pressure, and have a sense of urgency
- Be able to record and reconcile information while prioritizing
- Have the ability to work independently and with minimal direction
- Have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- The flexibility to meet the ever-changing needs of the department
- Outstanding work safe attitude and safety record
- Good attendance record
Shift Summary:
- Required to be available for a minimum of five shifts per week from Monday to Saturday, with Saturdays being a regularly required shift.
- All the shifts are rotational and run for 8 hours with a 30-minute break added.
Schedule:
- Schedules are posted 2 weeks in advance.
- Must be able to accommodate all the starting times on the specified shift.
- Start times could be different every day,
- C-shift start times are between 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm
What We Offer:
Pay Rate: While performing Production role, probationary rate per hour is $19.96 and full rate is $22.18
While performing Team Lead role, probationary rate per hour is $25.65 and full rate is $28.50
