  • We are hiring a Network Administrator in our St. Thomas, ON location!

    Working with the IT Operations Manager, the Network Administrator position will work with the IT Operations team to support, craft and configure the Enterprise Network landscape. This position will maintain the network & security infrastructure, assist with the Microsoft environment, and work closely with the other IT team members with planning and troubleshooting.

    What You Will Do:

    • Evaluate and communicate to the IT Operations Manager on company Information Technology needs.

    • Configure and handle day-to-day operations of network infrastructure including, but not limited to; network devices, firewall devices, and remote office connections.

    • Provide support for problems related to network & infrastructure related issues.

    • Coordinate network and telecom devices, including switches and wireless access products.

    • Handle telecom lines and troubleshooting outages when they occur.

    • Manage network IP scheme and addresses.

    • Run and supervise VPN connections to remote offices and VPN server allowing remote access to users via the Internet.

    • Work with internal teams on group projects and implementations.

    • Participate and guide QA testing through Enterprise Deployment.

    • Participates in the implementation of supervising systems for event monitoring, alerting, and metrics.

    • Responds to incidents to avoid system outages or restore availability to meet service level objectives.

    • Performs problem determination, problem resolution, and root cause analysis.

    • Provide occasional after-hours support and maintenance of a 24x7 Production Environment.

    • Install changes to server hardware, operating systems, server components and production application services as the need arises according to change management practices.

    • Responsible for leading projects for hardware/software deployments and modifications involving the Production Environment

    • Develops detailed project plans for large projects alongside IT Operations Manager.

    • Responsible for defining specifications for system hardware.

    • Responsible for capturing relevant data to determine hardware capacity needs and make plans for capacity expansions in a proactive manner.

    • Responsible for development and configuration practices that ensure a high level of performance and optimize capacity utilization.

    • Provides requirements to the Systems Monitoring group for metrics, alerts and critical issues.

    • Serves as a point of escalation for performance problems that cannot be resolved by the Support Staff.

    • Research new methods for improving performance and shares findings with the infrastructure and leadership teams.

    • Contributes to processes & procedures for the Business Continuity Strategy

     

    Who You Are:

    • In depth knowledge of SSH, MPLS, IPSEC, RADIUS, DHCP, DNS, NAT/PAT, QOS.

    • Extensive hands-on experience with a variety of routing and switching platforms from Cisco, HP Aruba and Palo Alto.

    • Solid grasp of Palo Alto technologies PAN OS, Firewall and VPN.

    • Hands on experience with HP Aruba Access Points.

    • Experience operating and maintaining Windows System Center Configuration Manager.

    • Experience in administration of Windows based Server environment, 2008, 2012, 2016 DNS, DHCP

    • Working experience in Rubrik backup appliance

    • Knowledge of company supported network platforms such as Windows and Unix/Linux.

    • Experience in the design and deployment of data network systems.

    • Experience in solving network LAN/WAN software related to operations, administration, user accounts, and systems security required.

    • Experience with telecom vendors and their systems and data lines.

    • Knowledge and proven track record working with Microsoft Infrastructure.

    • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Must demonstrate excellent customer services skills and the ability to connect with individuals of all levels of the organization.

    • Flexible to work times outside of standard office hours; some overnight work and occasional travel required.

    • Ability to perform some heavy lifting of material and equipment (up to 40 pounds).

    • Must be a standout colleague and be able to work coherently in a team environment.

    • Minimum 3 years related experience

    • O.S.S.D

    • University degree or College Diploma in a Technology field or equivalent related technical experience.

    • CCNA, CCNP or CCIE preferred Certifications are required.
