We are in search of a great Human Resources Manager for our London, Ontario manufacturing facility. We are looking for a dynamic leader with sound decision-making skills to execute various HR initiatives and support day-to-day plant HR operations. The HR Manager leads a team of 2 HR Generalists and 1 HR Administrator, reporting to the facility HR Director. We need a team player who wants to join a rapidly growing company, with 8-10 years' experience as a Human Resources manager, preferably from a small/mid-sized food production environment.  Someone who will be focused on employee engagement, excellent execution, continuous process improvement, hands-on in leading the team and highly visible throughout the plant providing advice, support and coaching to production supervisors and team leads, with regular scheduled presence on the production floor.

Job responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute employee relations plans, provide guidance, and implement best practices.
  • Partner with relevant stakeholders to foster and promote a culture consistent with DH values.
  • Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders to effectively execute employee communication channels.
  • Manage and continuously improve target setting process and ongoing performance review.
  • Support the recruitment of salaried professional employees in collaboration with the Recruiting Team.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors to identify employee training and development needs, and implement training programs to address organizational needs, as well as coordinate and deliver training to meet legal requirements
  • Manage worker's compensation (WSIB) claims with TeksMed and ensure continuous improvement.   
  • Maintain all records to ensure regulatory compliance and internal process management.
  • Coach supervisors and team leads on progressive discipline and development planning.
  • Support with coordination of annual merit pay review processes for all positions across the plant.  
  • Supports the HR Director with staffing and headcount update, with gathering market competitive salary data, and with execution of the plant safety strategy.

  • An approachable, friendly and people focused leader, who leads through positive influence, coaches, and develops others. Communicates effectively and executes with excellence. Able to provide clear direction for his team and possess strong ethical behavior with an entrepreneurial spirit to reflect ownership and accountability. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, employment laws and new technologies in human resources.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in business, management, human resources, or other related disciplines.
  • Human resources certification. CHRP or similar designation is an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, UKG (Previously Ultimate Pro and Kronos) HRIS
  • HR experience in a Union environment
