About the Opportunity

Our company is seeking weld Inspector(s) that will be responsible for inspecting welds at various stages of the build process within weld departments. The inspector will receive a job and will go to the specific location and inspect all the welds and parts that were completed for that process/job. The inspector takes the work instruction used by the welder for each function to inspect the weld. Inspection includes use of a flashlight, ultrasound gauges and weld gauges to ensure thickness, depth and size of the welds are accurate. Local LPI sprays will be used with ultrasound gauges to further inspect welds as required. If non-conformances are found, the Inspector will chalk the weld and record the information. The weld Inspector will complete inspections inside, laydown areas, trunnions or in open floor areas (cells). The Inspector may utilize portable step ladders to access the interior of the units as well as inspect the upper areas on units. Once the upper and lower portions are joined, the majority of the inspections are completed on the interior of the unit requiring other body postures (i.e., crouching, kneeling, and squatting) due to restricted clearances.
