Industrial Engineer

Dessert Holdings is a leading baked goods platform providing premium layer cakes, cheesecakes, brownies, bars, and other desserts to the retail in-store bakery (“ISB”) and foodservice channels on a largely private label basis. We are looking for an Industrial Engineer under the direction of the Manager of Engineering. This is an exciting opportunity to grow and gain experience with The Original Cakerie (TOC).

Responsibilities: 

Lead, organize and directs Continuous Improvement activities in the London Plant to enhance efficiency, lower costs and maximize asset utilization.

• Use process data to identify and prioritize beneficial process improvement opportunities
• Organize and control projects for improvement opportunities
• Execute time studies to validate or improve manufacturing processes
• Regularly review and revise plans for SPC, production monitoring, and facility training
• Assist in maintaining high quality, value added products manufacturing at all times
• Champion the use of Statistical Process Control and waste identification /elimination initiatives
• Assist with implementing change and help control/minimize costs in the facility
• Act as a facilitator and problem solver in team building in a Continuous Improvement environment
• Present training to operation teams to reach goals as part of new equipment or process changes
• Provide effective regular reporting to facility teams, senior leadership and customers

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or related Engineering field
• 3+ years’ experience in the Food, Pharmaceutical, or Beverage industry
• 5+ years’ experience in an Industrial Engineering or Continuous Improvement role
• Demonstrated competency in SPC, lean manufacturing, Kaizen and 5S
• Strong analytical and math skills
• Demonstrated ability to implement and manage change in a production environment

Preferred Skills:

• Six Sigma certification
• Project Management experience
• Experience with Advanced Automation
