Key Job Elements and Responsibilities:

  • Complete component level design tasks while keeping supervisor regularly inform on progress and issues encountered. Ensure all designs are peer reviewed by technical lead or assigned mentor.
    • Areas of focus (expertise on as many areas as possible preferred): automotive power generation, storage and distribution, automotive controls of electro-mechanical systems, automotive internal and external lights selection and integration, power and data controllers, wiring harness designs including specialty signals types (CANBUS, Ethernet, etc), vehicle schematic development, alternating current devices (inverters, battery chargers, AV receptacles)
  • Support test planning, execution, and reporting as assigned and under supervision of test lead.
  • Provide status to supervisor on progress of tasks.
  • Share insights and ideas for improvement with supervisor. Support improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Identify opportunities for self development. Raise ideas to supervisor attention.
  • Support quality and Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCA) related activities as requested.

  Required Qualifications:

  • University degree or College Diploma in relevant engineering discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years relevant engineering experience.
  • Superior oral and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Ability to travel (5% Cdn) and (5% US & International) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
  • Must be able to meet Anthropometrical Size Requirements for confined space

 Preferred Experience:

  • Ability to understand and review to GDLS-C drawing standards.
  • Expertise in harness design tools such as Siemens’ Capital Enterprise suite or Zuken
  • Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620D, Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies
  • Eng. or ability to obtain P. Eng designation
  • Proficient with GDLS-C processes and products
