Job Description

Research and Development Project Coordinator
Summary
Natra Chocolate America requires an R&D Project Coordinator.  This individual conducts industry-relevant research, maximizes efficiency, and minimizes duplication via implementation of projects in the London, Ontario Natra facility. The R&D Project Coordinator will provide direct support for project-related deliverables such as support for improvement projects and follow up on departmental operations and projects for day-to-day administrative duties.
Job Duties
  • Liaison with sales, QA, production, and finance to create accurate project plans for new product development;
  • Coordinate continuous improvement projects, process improvement plans, equipment installations in the plant with the support of QA and operations;
  • Coordinate the SR&ED Tax Credit tracking program;
  • Update ERP system with article management and creation that reflects actual production requirements for each reference.
  • Work with QA, sourcing, and supply chain to translate customer requirements into value-added project plans and products;
  • Expedite processes for packaging and labeling, artwork, and data supply of new or changed products to contribute to quick product (re)-launches
  • Oversee all steps of new product development through to successful first production
  • Pro-actively follow up of all changes to existing products and coordinate these changes with sales, customer services, planning and purchasing
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

  • Performing other duties as assigned by the QA and R&D manager
Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of project coordination experience
  • Continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, process improvement experience
  • Ability to think beyond the day to day operations for R&D project and improvement opportunities
  • Relevant post-secondary diploma or degree
  • Strong knowledge of ERP’s as well as Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of food safety programs (HACCP, BRC)
  • Graphic design experience is an asset
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment will be an asset
  • Working knowledge of French/Spanish is considered an asset
