Description

Introduction

The Hydrocarbon Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading the team of process technicians and associates through the material handling, feed preparation, and hydrocarbon extraction operations at Motif Labs. The Supervisor will play an integral role in the commissioning of new equipment processes which contribute to departmental safety, quality, and production goals. The Supervisor will perform duties in compliance with SOPs and Health Canada Regulations under the guidance of the Extraction Operations Manager.

Position Overview:
?      Participate in the hiring and onboarding process of new technicians
?      Provide expertise during the installation and commissioning of hydrocarbon equipment and processes
?      Meaningfully contribute to the development of hydrocarbon extraction SOPs
?      Optimize parameters and processes to allow for consistent, reliable production of concentrates products
?      Identify variation in extract characteristics and determine root cause and corrective actions
?      Provide day to day supervision of tasks of the hydrocarbon operations team
?      Provide regular performance feedback and develop progression plans for employees within the department
?      Follow and actively reinforce hydrocarbon processes as per SOPs
?      Assist with executing and improving technician training protocols
?      Assist with executing, maintaining, and improving all hydrocarbon SOPs
?      Ensure maintenance and calibration of equipment is completed as per defined schedule
?      Troubleshoot equipment problems and document findings for future reference
?      Provide production reports and identify areas of improvement
?      Identify opportunities for process improvements with the goal of meeting or exceeding departmental safety, quality, and production KPIs
?      Ensure 100% compliance with QA requirements during day-to-day activities 
?      Other projects and duties as assigned
 
Qualifications:
?      Post secondary education in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology or Laboratory Technician studies is required
?      Minimum of 5 years of production/manufacturing in DTC goods, or pharmaceutical experience required
?      2+ years experience in hydrocarbon extraction is preferred
?      2-3 years management or team lead experience
?      Extensive knowledge of hydrocarbon extraction and concentrates post-processing required
?      Experience within Cannabis industry preferred
?      Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills. Application of theory and qualitative analysis are considered crucial
?      Individuals with a Health Canada security clearance will be given preference
?      Positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills
?      Commitment to safety and high-quality results
?      Strong time management skills and possesses strong ability to multitask and prioritize based on business needs
?      Shows initiative and ownership of work, strong attention to detail, willingness to learn and ability to problem solve in various situations
?      Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
?      Required to pass a criminal background check
?      Must be able to work various shift schedules as required
?      Daily travel to facility in Aylmer, Ontario required (valid Driver’s License)
