Director of Supply Chain

 

Location: Windsor or Strathroy, Ontario


Position Summary:

Reporting to the General Manager, SG Canada, the Director of Supply Chain is accountable for the design, implementation and management of strategic supply chain initiatives which ensure on-time and in-full customer delivery, enables the growth of sales and simplifies the business.

This role is responsible for individual customer account coordination, developing and maintaining accurate Demand Plans based on consensus-based forecasts for Ontario sites. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring the S&OP process delivers the strategic objectives of the organization
  • Responsible for ensuring Supply strategies are developed and implemented which meet and/or exceed Demand requirements
  • Responsible for business processes which result in an aligned revenue / demand forecasts for both long-term (e.g. 3yrs. / 5yrs) and near-term (18 month rolling)
  • Responsible for developing and implementing strategic supply chain changes that result in reduced product cycle time and direct to retail opportunities
  • Responsible for our business policy process to enable improved commercial business predictability and enhanced supply chain performance
  • Responsible for the customer order management process, including order response time, customer forecasts, and the adherence to customer order lead-times in accordance with supply agreements
  • Responsible for the development and execution of processes / procedures to ensure integration of incremental manufacturing / packaging supply within the supply chain
  • Responsible for development and implementation of supply chain changes that result in a competitive advantage for our P/L partners (e.g. order lead-time reduction)
  • Responsible for reduced supply chain costs through process improvement and budgetary control
  • Responsible for the identification and resolution of potential business issues and/or supply constraints
  • Responsible for defining and implementing controls which maintain/ improve inventory accuracy and reduced levels throughout the supply chain
  • Provide advice, guidance and direction to subordinate staff and provide timely feedback on performance
  • Minimize company risk and maintains compliance in area of environment, health, and safety
  • Must be able to work extended hours, weekends as needed, especially when problems occur or when deadlines must be met
  • Perform other duties as required

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field
  • Master’s Degree Preferred

 

Experience:

  • 7-10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management and ERP or a related field
  • Experience working in manufacturing, pharmaceutical and/or GMP facility an asset

 

Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of ERP systems
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Access, Word)
  • Direct working knowledge of operations, warehouse management, inventory control, and transportation management
  • Solid project management skills are essential
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization
