Manufacturing Engineer
Description
CompanyMotif Labs is a licensed cannabis extraction facility located in SW Ontario. We are a creator of internal brands such as BOXHOT, DEBUNK, Boondocks, and Floresense that are deeply connected to the diverse and evolving needs of today's consumer market. We also operate as a business-to-business enterprise, offering toll processing and contract manufacturing services to Licensed Producers (LP’s) and 3rd party brands.

Responsibilities
- Create Process Flow Diagrams, Line Layouts, Work Instructions for all manufacturing processes including vape filling, pre-roll infusion, dry flower fill, and packaging.
- Reduce Occurrence and improve Detection of failure modes by leveraging PFMEA methodology.
- Design and implementation of fixtures, jigs, go/no-go gauges, Poke Yokes, etc. that reduce or eliminate failure modes and optimize production rates.
- Work with Dynamics 365 and have ownership of manufacturing BOMs, Routings, & Work Centres.
- Assess capability of existing processes, assess material flow throughout various production processes and optimize.
- Analyze equipment malfunctions and failures accordingly based on root-cause analysis (i.e. 5-why) and develop Corrective Actions
- Develop cost reduction initiatives.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science or equivalent, preferably in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
· 3-5years of manufacturing experience (preferably in a lean, high volume production manufacturing environment)
· Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, machinery, material handling, conveyance packaging and logistics.
· Understanding of lean manufacturing principals, and basic Quality Tools.
· Structured and proactive with the need to quickly implement in an agile development environment.
· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
· Resourceful, autonomous, disciplined self-starter, with the ability to work independently and as part of an extended team.
· Required to pass a criminal background check.
