Sourcing Specialist

About the job

As a member of our Strategic Sourcing team, you will Support strategic contractual negotiations and agreements with suppliers. Procure components and supplies to support Manufacturing and new product development. Proactively manage projects which require Supplier and TMI resources.

Responsibilities Include:

Contract Negotiation, Establishment, and Implementation

  • Lead the strategic sourcing process with key stakeholders and sourcing team
  • Partner and influence key cross functional stakeholders to align on the execution of the strategic sourcing and contracting processes for goods and services
  • Ensure products and materials are sourced at the best value while utilizing best practices
  • Assist in selection of raw material and component suppliers, including approval and certification
  • Monitor suppliers to ensure they meet high TMI standards
  • Negotiate tooling delivery activities according to required timelines

Purchase Order

  • Manage all aspects of mold approval and progress all activities according to schedule
  • Maintain a timely schedule related to sourcing and purchasing activities
  • Ensure conformance to all relevant documentation and procedures

Liaison with Suppliers

  • Maintain orderly and effective systems for supplier communication
  • Help ensure supplier success by assisting in applicable performance measurement systems and feedback
  • Maintain supplier and part files with accurate and appropriate information

Purchasing Administration

  • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities
  • Participate in the implementation and maintenance of variance analysis for component costs
  • Participate in APQP activities as requested
  • Produce purchasing procedures that are effective, efficient, and documented
  • Maintain job related standard operating procedures and ERP Scripts
  • Work with Buyers to achieve department goals

Health and Safety

  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, including the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, etc.

 

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Purchasing, Engineering, Supply Chain or a related field of study
  • Certified Professional Purchasing or Supply Chain designation is an asset
  • 4 years of experience in sourcing/procurement
  • Plastics Molding and Assembly Experience and knowledge
  • Project management experience
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze, and identify appropriate solutions, options, and insights.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Power BI, Microsoft Teams, ERP)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
