The Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Administrator is responsible for supporting our Health and Safety Program through various tasks such as coordinating training, tracking and addressing hazard identification, managing WSIB correspondence, organizing health and safety awareness activities, generating reports, and keeping related policies and procedures up to date. Additionally, the HSE Administrator is responsible for assisting in the implementation and maintenance of environmental procedures, practices, and policies.
Here are some of the different activities you’ll be asked to do:

  • Contribute to the updating and distribution of Health and Safety procedures and Environmental/Sustainability policies.
  • Actively participate in the Joint Health & Safety Committee, including recording and distributing meeting minutes.
  • Engage directly in Hazard Identification and Near Miss reporting, leading meeting coordination and follow-up efforts.
  • Coordinate and schedule specialized training, including First Aid and Forklift training.
  • Manage essential documentation for WSIB claims, oversee WSIB correspondence.
  • Maintaining HSE supplies through inventory management and ordering.
  • Utilize data to track and consolidate information, aiding in the monitoring and reporting of HSE goals, targets, and KPIs.
  • Support the delivery and tracking of Health and Safety orientation for all new employees.
  • Assist with the implementation of site-wide environmental initiatives that support our sustainability plan.
  • Adhere to all the requirements of the Jones Quality Management System.
  • Adhere and assist with Food Safety (SQF) program.
  • Embrace the opportunity to take on various assignments as directed by the Senior Manager, Health, Safety & Environment, contributing to the continuous improvement of our HSE programs.
If you’ve got:
  • Post-secondary diploma, health & safety focus is an asset.
  • Over 3 years of experience in an office environment and a minimum of 1 year of Health & Safety experience.
  • Exceptional organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (MS Office).
