Senior Avionics & Electrical Engineer



The Avionics & Electrical Engineer is responsible for providing engineering design and certification services in support of existing products and new development programs. This may include the creation of design data, analysis, testing, reporting, and the review and approval of engineering data
Responsibilities:

  • High degree of independent decision making based on relevant policy or law, experience, and company goals or objectives
  • Prepare schematics for airframe interface to various avionic equipment
  • Design, develop, and qualify the aircraft and its systems to the requirements of the customers and applicable certifying authorities
  • Develop the capability of the aircraft and systems, in line with company strategic goals, through research and development of technologies, methods, and engineering skills
  • Provide in-depth technical subject expertise and team leadership for technical activities across engineering projects, including design, analysis, assessment, testing, modeling, simulation, and qualification of aircraft and software
  • Provide technical leadership and task coordination to a set of engineering activities, including: concepts, schemes, design, simulation, modeling, and analysis of aircraft components and software
  • Produce engineering solutions within area of expertise
  • Produce and maintain range of engineering documentation within agreed formats in compliance with engineering and departmental instructions
  • Provide technical data to meet design or engineering solution requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, such as: mentoring junior engineers as required, and serving an ongoing production support role
     
    Skills & Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Aerospace Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineering License is an asset
  • 10 years of relevant Engineering experience (5 years in Avionics & Electrical)
  • Experience with avionics design and installation
  • Knowledge of aviation regulations, Part 23
  • Ability to execute on long term goals, objectives, and strategies while ensuring completion of daily, weekly, and monthly departmental functions
  • Excellent in PC use and Microsoft Office applications
  • Effective communication, problem-solving skills, and ability to send and receive information both verbally and in writing
  • Commitment to product integrity and safety
  • Experience with CATIA V5, AutoCAD, and Solid Edge
  • AME E License an asset
  • Familiarity with Garmin products is an asset
  • Previous or current delegation experience with a civil aviation authority is an asset
  • Previous MRB authority also considered an asset
