Operations Manager- Warehouse
 

We are hiring an Operations Manager, Warehouse in our St. Thomas, ON location!

 

The Operations Manager is responsible for the management and distribution of our products ensuring we consistently meet / exceed customer expectations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for both raw material and finished good inventory (approx. 20,000SKUs) in a 120,000 square-foot distribution center.

What You Will Do:

  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the associated supervisory team, which includes coaching, mentoring, directing and performance management.

  • Develop robust, trusting relationships with key stakeholders and senior leadership, and identify opportunity to improve the Warehousing productivity.

  • Responsible for meeting/communicating with the union representatives in matters of joint interest

  • Direct and exercise proper and respectful communication/behavior and adherence to the collective bargaining agreement

  • Monitor and drive key service level metrics for fulfillment to ensure that we are providing excellent customer experience and delivering on our promise.

  • Support operational strategy and innovation to drive business goals for revenue, operational performance, and profitability.

  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with effective communication and thorough follow through.

  • Establish sound process improvement initiatives that drive year over year improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, cost, as well as streamline and optimize day-to-day operations.

  • Ensures controls are in place for inventory management. Execute actions driving towards physical inventory exemption

  • Responsible to drive a safety culture. Approaches safety with a mindset that all accidents are preventable.

  • Supports the creation of health and well-being activities of all employees.

Who You Are:

  • University Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or Similar field required.

  • Six Sigma/lean (or equivalent) background a plus

  • APICS Certification (CPIM, CPM, PMAC, or CSCP) a plus

  • Emergency First Aid/CPR and AED Certification

  • 5+ years of management experience in operations management, warehousing and/or logistics. Union experiences preferred.

  • Experience improving engagement by establishing trust-based relationships with direct reports and broader organization.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to set priorities, solve problems with evidence-based decision-making practices and resolve conflicts in a timely and efficient manner

  • Problem Solving: Uses data analysis to help predict problem areas and identify areas of opportunity. Critical thinking and prioritization skills.

  • Computer: High level proficiency in Microsoft Office, analytical software, and ERP/WMS platforms
