Position Overview:
Responsible for the efficient and effective performance of electrical components, equipment controls and industrial automation used in Vari-Form’s manufacturing This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Position can and may require working on afternoon or midnight shift or being on call.Position Overview:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Involved in the design and improvement of the electrical controls, hydraulic and pneumatic systems associated with new and existing equipment.
- Programs machine controllers, Human Machine Interfaces, setup industrial networks, and provides technical support.
- Supports product launches (internal and external) by involvement in APQP and troubleshooting equipment during the implementation process.
- Comply with company policies and procedures supporting the quality management system, environmental management system, and health and safety.
- Other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements and Skills:
- Electrical technologist/technician or Industrial Electrician
- Five+ years electrical controls or electrical technician or industrial electrician experience in a manufacturing setting
- Knowledge of PLC programming, robotics, electrical control systems / circuits, servo drives.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in AutoCad, Siemens Step 7, Siemens TIA Portal, AB RSLogix 5000, Modicon Proworx is considered an asset.
