Retrofit & Repair Program Shop Floor Lead Staff Specialist Projects Management, Customer Support Services Department At General Dynamics Land Systems we put our Customers at the centre of everything we do. Key Job Elements:- Member of Canadian Project Management Team within the Integrated Product Support (IPS) department; responsible for the execution/coordination of GDLS-C Retrofit & Repair Program’s shop floor activities
- Responsible for the project planning, production readiness, and execution required to develop and deliver vehicles under the Retrofit & Repair Program (RRP)
- Action and monitor RRP activities including bidding, planning, statusing, risk management, and task completion
- Lead point of contact for shop floor supervisors to address daily issues and control capacity constraints (material, personnel, priorities, etc.)
- Coordinate standard RRP upgrades along with any extenuating /additional repairs while vehicles are disassembled and priorities change
- Monitor Earned Value Management Systems, initiate Baseline Change Requests and schedule adjustments as necessary to address variances
- Lead daily/weekly progress meetings with the internal CSS teams, coordinate resolution and follow-up on technical or programmatic issues
- Coordinate the execution and follow-through of the Change Request Processes and Service Bulletins on the RRP vehicles
- Lead the development and execution of Contractual Change Proposals on the RRP vehicles and associated downstream impacts to kitting and material for all impacted vehicles
- Assist in the investigation / analysis and provide recommendations for corrective action to address issues daily on the RRP activities
- Deliver status and metrics reporting information for CSS elements as required to all levels of the organization
- Provide technical support, advice, and justification to all levels of the organization and customers when required
- Present findings, lead recommendation investigations, and analysis to all stakeholders on any barriers related to RRP execution
- Attend, contribute, and collaborate internal / external customer meetings as required
- Liaise closely with the CSS teams daily on priorities and successful execution
- Address incoming and outgoing correspondence from internal and external customers’ daily
- Support staffing levels, training, prepare presentations, support CCPs, and bid activity as required
- Ensure compliance with the contract and management of the RRP deliverables
- Liaise with Safety, Obsolescence Management, Design Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Training, Packaging Handling Shipping and Transportation (PHS&T), Supply Chain Management, Program Management, Trade Compliance Management, Contract Management, Suppliers and Sub-contractors to ensure alignment with contractual deliverables
- Prepare and coordinate cost estimates and proposals as required
- Apply independent judgment, considerable latitude, and clear justification in determining technical objectives and solutions to meet RRP demands
- Lead the investigation and analysis of the root causes of issues and propose/implement corrective actions to bring issues to resolution
- Provide technical/strategic input into the development of formal customer correspondence pertaining to deliverables, contract objectives, schedules, and event planning
- Project Leader and main Point of Contract for all RRP shop floor personnel and activities
- University Degree or College Diploma in a technical discipline; including a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical project management position
- Proficient communication, organization and prioritization skills
- Ability to provide effective leadership in meetings
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment
- Proactive, with the ability to work with limited guidance

- Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience
- Working knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems
- Familiarity with Military sustainment strategies for Land Equipment
- Familiar with Customer Support Service’s planning, internal systems, shop floor demands, and capable of executing and monitoring formal task completion
- Familiarity with successful execution and implementation in a fast paced environment with changing priorities
