Stockkeeper

Under the direction of the Stores Supervisor, or designate, you will be responsible for the receipt, warehousing and issuing of material to support the day-to-day operations of London Hydro. In this detailed role within our Materials Management Department, you will be expected to inspect, count, record, issue, store, distribute and verify material received and issued, and process the pertinent documentation. This job requires heavy physical effort and working outside on a regular basis.

 

JOB DUTIES

As part of your responsibilities as a Stockkeeper, you will:

· Receive and verify all incoming material ensuring it is correct and meets London Hydro specifications.

· Assist with locating material by identifying, labelling and placing materials and supplies in stock, accurately recording location of material in the inventory systems. Ensure the accuracy of inventory and material through the use of general knowledge of inventory, use of the barcoding system (e.g. receiving, issues, returns) and through assisting with reconciling and cycle count activities. Notify supervisor of inventory inconsistencies.

· Accurately pick material issues from picklist, and place in staging areas for upcoming work orders. Assist with and process mobile work order inventory requests for operational staff and contractors. Monitor work order ensuring that the issuance of material has been approved. Assist with the analysis of inventory discrepancies on capital work orders.

· Load and unload delivery trucks. Select, lift and move a large variety of materials including heavy or large items to appropriate storage locations or pickups. Contribute to racking safety adherence ensuring compliance with legislation and supporting racking inspections. Ensure inventories are stored in support of FIFO. Maintain a safe and clean work environment keeping warehouse and lower storage yard clean; comply with established policies and procedures. Operate material handling equipment daily – forklift, pallet lifter and carts. Perform daily preventative maintenance on material handling equipment.

· Coordinate and process vendor returns and repairs to ensure all proper documentation is complete.

· Assist with the maintaining of all reclaim material processes by storing and recording the inventory within the inventory systems.

· Prepare, process and document shipping requests.

· Maintain and file departmental documents and records.

· Assist with documentation of departmental procedures and processes and in the training of new employees.

· Provide excellent written and verbal communications when interacting with internal and external customers.

· Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety Act rules and regulations, the IHSA's Electrical Utility Safety Rules, London Hydro safe work practices and procedures, and all components of London Hydro's health and safety program.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

You bring the following credentials to the position of Stockkeeper:

· Driver's License Class G. Current forklift licence (written and practical components).

· Keyboarding speed of 35 w.p.m.

· Intermediate working knowledge of Excel, Word and Google-based software programs.

· Proficiency in inventory software, databases and system and general knowledge of London Hydro inventory parts and related processes.

· Knowledge of modern warehousing practices and methods

· Good organizational and time management skills

· Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)
