Job Description

Purifics seeks to fill a permanent position of Accounting, to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the Company’s financial results and financial reporting, and to lead special projects and ad hoc analysis as required.


  • Prepare and analyse financial statements as requested.
  • Work with design engineers to complete job costing models, budgets and bid proposals.
  • Ensure government remittances/funding are filed and remitted in timely manner.
  • Process day-to-day accounting functions such as payables, receivables, and payroll.
  • Budgeting, reconciliation of bank & cash flow reports as needed.
  • Analysis of general ledger account activity, accruals and reconciliation of GL accounts.
  • Maintain detailed records for company assets, inventory, loans and other accounts.
  • Oversee financial commitments of contracts and complete percent completion reports.
  • Preparation of year-end financials and summaries for accountants.
  • Improve accounting procedures and or reporting techniques.
  • Assist with hiring and terminations and prepare appropriate documentation as needed.
  • Ensure compliance to GAAP and other industry standards.
  • Maintain company insurance policies – corporate, group health, automotive, etc.

Qualifications: ?

  • Business accounting and reporting experience
  • Professional accounting designation considered an asset
  • Technical excellence with accounting software, with advanced MS Excel skills
  • Experience working with Sage accounting software (current version is Sage 50 Quantum Accounting 2021.1)
  • Strong analytical skills, superior attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Demonstrates professionalism and integrity
  • Extremely organized and process-oriented, with an ability to handle a variety of tasks, work under pressure while adhering to strict deadlines
  • Positive and pro-active approach to problem solving
  • A team player with strong interpersonal and relationship skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of purchasing and terms
