Dr. Oetker is a state-of-the-art Pizza Production Facility in London, Ontario.  With our Head Quarters in Germany, and operations in over 40 countries around the world, we are an international company with deep family roots dating back to 1891.  Our facility which employees about 300 associates was built in 2014 and showcases modern, highly automated, high volume production lines where we produce Ristorante, Casa di Mama and Giuseppe pizzas under the Dr. Oetker label. 

In our facility, we start with raw materials such as flour and yeast to make a great pizza crust, topping with sauce and ingredients to make a fantastic, finished pizza and then freezing and packaging the pizzas for retail distribution. 

We are looking for a dynamic, team oriented and results driven Production Manager.  Reporting to the Plant Manager, our Production Manager will be a key member of the Senior Plant Management Team, leading a team of 15 supervisors in all day-to-day activities and overall plant operations.

Our Production Manager will deliver excellence by:

• Meeting or exceeding KPI’s including health & safety, food safety, quality, labour, run rates and waste.
• Ensuring the production plan is fully achieved, on time and in compliance with health & safety, food safety and product quality.
• Providing Leadership to Production Supervisors and being accountable for the activities of production teams in the main area of responsibility of Bakery, Topping, Packaging, Shipping/Receiving and Sanitation
• Maintaining a regular presence on the production floor to maintain high levels of communication with Production Supervisors and employees and ensure the highest level of employee training to continuously improve plant operations to uphold food safety and health & safety requirements
• Partnering with other functional departments including Quality Assurance, Maintenance& Reliability, Human Resources and Health & Safety to ensure all requirements are met

Qualification & Strengths:  

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a similar production management position, preferably in the food manufacturing or pharmaceutical industry 1
• Sound knowledge of HACCP and GMPs 5
• Proficient computer skills (word, excel, outlook).  Previous experience with SAP is an asset 6
• You have the ability to positively motivate, engage, empower and develop direct reports while holding them accountable and being responsible for their overall growth and development 2
• Ability to cover a multi shift operation as required in a physically demanding environment
• You have excellent problem-solving skills, leadership abilities and organizational skills. 3
• You are comfortable leading in a unionized environment and have superior communication skills 4
• Preferred post-secondary education or equivalent in Business or Manufacturing 7
