Administration Manager

Location: Strathroy, ON.

Meridian is an automotive company and the world leader in the design, engineering and manufacturing of high-quality magnesium and aluminum die cast components. We are driven to provide lightweight, innovative and effective solutions for our distinguished automotive clients around the globe.


Reporting to the Administration Director, the incumbent acts as the 1st level support on a number of administrative projects, plans and business opportunities. Highly supports in the integration of Meridian with Wanfeng and serves as a key intermediary for all other departments as needed.


• Reporting to the Administration Director, overlooking the Administration work.

• In charge of the overall administration, including business reception support, clean-keeping, vehicles, office supplies, meeting rooms, hotels and ticketing management.

• Responsible for company publicity, 6S management of office.

• Manage company's work plan, including the preparation, submit and follow-up.

• Organize company meetings and activities, draft company documents and conference speeches, and assist in corporate culture construction especially for the integration of Wanfeng culture.

• Assist in the establishment, revision and implementation supervision of the management rules and regulations of the company.

• Contact and coordinate with relevant departments of the WF group and external departments.

• Responsible for visual image recognition and management of the company.

• Strengthen the awareness of honesty and self-discipline, improve the ability of risk prevention and control of honesty, guide and supervise subordinates to be honest and self-discipline.

• Administer the timely collection of key operating information, metrics and consolidating such data in formats that support decision making by senior leadership and CEO.

• Attend Staff Meetings and Key Project Meetings & attend most meetings along with CEO and Chairman. Record minutes and meeting key actions. Support in tracking of open action items and follow up with staff members to keep progress on track.

• Support all locations during Wanfeng and other delegation visits including advance notice, purpose of trip, attendees, resources needed, etc. Work with Meridian travel organizers to ensure smooth operations.

• Serve as the primary contact person with the International Administration Department (IAD) and provide feedback to both Wanfeng and Meridian.

• Responsible for the association of this field or industry, contacting with the association, and build the public affairs relationship.

• Continually identifies and implements best practices ensuring an efficient, cost effective leadership team with a focus on quality & client service. Promotes a client-centric culture with a can do attitude.

• Promotes a positive and progressive work environment that strives towards common goals. Work with all functional leaders, to identify and combine best practices of both Wanfeng and Meridian culture.

• Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership/ownership group


• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Commerce and 5+ years of experience in mid-size organization. MBA would be a strong asset.

• 5+ years in automotive mid-sized Tier One Industry Company providing administration support to CEO level.

• Knowledgeable of differing cultures, values from country to country and able to cross cultural differences in supporting mission of “One Team Worldwide.”

• Familiar with a variety of the administration concepts, practices, and procedures.

• Must have strong knowledge in administration management areas. The incumbent is also expected to apply skills in organizational capability.

• Must have exceptional leadership skills; the ability to work with associates at all levels and influence appropriately and comfortable dealing with conflict situations in driving key initiatives.

• Must have a broad business view; sharp business acumen that ideally is in part based on a strong understanding of the automotive industry.

• Must be a self-starter who can work independently and be a strong team player that contributes to the effectiveness of the broader team.

• Translates business needs into what needs to get done; ensures that all work is completed effectively; solves problems and monitors the progress of work against schedules and maintains high performance standards.

• Must have outstanding strategic planning, consulting and basic human resources management skills.

• Must have excellent communication, coaching, negotiation skills; able to articulate compelling ideas.

• Fosters relationships and a positive climate to build effective teams that are committed to organizational goals and initiatives; fosters teamwork and is a corporate-minded team player.

• Has strong communication and problem solving skills; champions open and effective communication flow throughout the organization.

• Ability to work exceptionally across different cultures, values and systems with end goal to arrive at most effective solution and path.

• Ability to effectively lead cross functional and indirect teams, assume ad hoc responsibilities, handle critical issues and direct the flow of work.

• Ability to manage complex and interrelated projects with diverse team (from Engineering – Manufacturing – Finance/IT and all other areas of the business).

• Strong organizational skills to work independently and to prioritize a heavy workload under the pressure of competing assignments.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment

• Demonstrated strategic thinker able to see ‘big picture’, remove barriers and problem solves issues

• Ability to respond flexibly and positively in all circumstances and to work calmly under pressure.

• Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion, especially with regards to sensitive matters.

• Superior computer skills with a demonstrated ability in all MS Word suite, Project Planning

• Willingness and the ability to successfully obtain required legal documentation to travel outside Canada as needed and at minimum to China, United States, UK & Mexico
