Position Overview
The Security Technician is a motivated, organized, and personable individual willing to contribute their experience and expertise in the area of service and installation of Alarm Intrusion, Access Control and CCTV Systems. The Security Technician is a team player and a vital member of Classic Fire + Life Safety Team. Organization and accuracy are key factors with respect to correspondence, and paperwork.
The Security Technician role is a full time - hourly position. The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following tasks:
Task and Responsibilities:
- Perform service and installation work on various intrusion, access control and video systems.
- Perform routine inspections of intrusion and fire monitoring systems
- Work with aerial lifts, ladders and hand tools
- Install cabling and conduit in commercial/industrial buildings
- Prepare concise and timely work orders while on site
- Prepare weekly time sheets and submit for payroll
- Required to be on the On-Call after hours rotation
- Keep company vehicle organized and properly stocked with supplies and equipment.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years experience as an installation and service technician
- Understanding of data networks and network-based systems an asset
- Customer service oriented
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills an asset
- Knowledge of the fire alarm and sprinkler industry an asset
- Must possess a valid driver's license
