Full time permanent position
St. Thomas, Ontario (Talbotville rural location)
REPORTS TO:
Operations Manager
The Company
At Ontario Plants Propagation Limited, our vision is to be North America’s premier supplier of greenhouse
vegetable transplants. In order to help us accomplish this goal, we need to hire a motivated, passionate
person that will support our workforce and facilities. With that in mind, we are looking for a high-energy,
hands on, Production Line Supervisor to oversee all aspects associated with the greenhouse production lines.
Job Description/Responsibilities
1. Production Lines Oversight
• Responsible for the oversight of line operators, Team leads and their production teams.
• Manage the preparation, scheduling and production of customer orders on the seeding lines, organic
line, Elle pot, selecting and block lines and machine spacing
• Ensure quality assurance procedures are followed, and any defects are addressed and recorded
• Collaborate with the maintenance department to schedule preventative maintenance and address
repairs as required.
• Develop, implement, and report on key performance indicators for each production line and
machine spacing.
• Examine performance data and reports (e.g., daily/weekly line reports) to evaluate the line activities
of the company and take corrective actions where appropriate to maximize performance and
minimize losses and deviations.
• Apply principles of LEAN, Continuous Improvement and other tools to improve productivity and
lower operating costs
• Provide project management for production improvement projects
• Ensure that goals and objectives are met and that corrective action is taken when necessary.
2. Resource Management
• Ensure on time posting of production workorders & the timely completion of floor plans.
• Collaborate with other department leaders to gather input for production scheduling & Coordinate
labour planning for the lines with the workforce planner.
• Create and execute standard operating procedures.
3. Team Leadership
• Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communication and coaching
• Recruit, Promote, Supervise, train, and develop a crew of Line operators & Team leads.
• Conduct annual reviews and coaching activities to ensure performance meets established standards.
4. Quality Control
• Establish and enforce quality control standards throughout the production process
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement
5. Collaboration and Communication
• Demonstrate positive leadership and establish and demonstrate a strong business ethic in
relationships with employees & suppliers
• Ensure effective and efficient communication between all departments
6. Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure that all reporting employees adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Ensure that all company Bio-security and Hygiene protocols are followed and enforced.
• Instruct and enforce safety management programs, training and processes for Greenhouse and
Warehouse staff.
7. Safety Compliance
• Foster a safe work environment by promoting adherence to safety protocols, compliance with
occupational health and safety regulations, conducting regular safety inspections, and implementing
corrective actions to mitigate hazards.

• Manual dexterity
Minimum requirements
• 3-5 years of direct experience working in a production leadership role.
• Experience and knowledge working with Robotics in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in the greenhouse industry, an asset but not required.
• Experience using Lean Six Sigma and continues improvement tools to drive purposeful results
• Familiarity with OHSA and safety regulations
• Experience with leading continues improvement projects
Physical Location/Working Conditions
• Greenhouse environment in rural area.
• 30-60 hours per week
• Able to work long hours including Saturdays, Sunday, and holidays when required.
• Start times vary significantly during busy times, flexibility is a must.

• Competitive salary and benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
