Role Summary
To ensure in process and outgoing products complies to MSM controls. Audit suppliers for compliance to receiving control plans by performing audits on incoming products. To support cross functional team for any internal / external supplier and customer incidents for effective containment and corrective actions. Provide feedback for improvements in day to day activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in part layout activity using tools such as Blueprint & capability studies.
- Participate in quality improvement activities using tools such as SPC, PFMEA, Control Plans, Quality Systems, Poke Yoke, 8D Corrective action, 5 Why’s.
- Perform receiving inspection audits, review and document supplier data as per Control Plan / Control Card
- Authority to stop shipments to the customer in the event of a non-conforming product
- Issue QPF, review responses and work with SQE to improve subcontractor’s performance
- Perform Product, Process, Control Plan Audits as per audit schedule
- Work with CFT to review and disposition suspect material from each operation, enter status in trans4M for the shift.
- Perform Layered Process Audits as per predetermined schedule
Key Responsibilities Continued
- Ensure effective traceability and containments of all purchased components and processes
- Investigate the non-conformance of the product/ process and report it in a timely manner to avoid production down time
- Ensure necessary containment action is in place and adequate supply of material is available to production, with no or minimal down-time
- Participate as a team member in resolution of NCR’s and 8D and Quality system audit corrective action requests.
- Issue and train team members for Quality Alerts & Visual Aids.
- Actively implement and audit Mafact elements.
- Perform SPC studies and Gage R&R activities.
- Review and approve Supplier Annual validations.
- Comply to Magna Quality Standards, IATF 16949 and CSR requirements.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- College Diploma or equitant in a related discipline
- Registered as either a Certified Engineering Technologist (OACETT) or Certified Quality Technician (ASQ), or able to meet the entry requirements
- Minimum 2 years related experience in the automotive industry in Quality Supplier Assurance.
- Basic understanding of quality and manufacturing tools such as SPC, PFMEA, Control Plans, Quality Systems, Poke yoke, 8D Corrective Action, 5 Why’s.
- Experience with PPAP, 8D Problem Solving, SPC, GD&T & Blueprint Reading.
- Knowledge of machining, stamping, flow forming, welding and assembly line processes
- Experience with product and process control, gauging and mistake proofing
- Basic understanding of statistical methods
- Must be able to communicate fluently in both written and spoken English
- Must be able to relate/communicate well with people of all levels
- Must have good organizational skills, be a self-starter and a team player
- Must possess a sound knowledge and ability to use various PC based computer applications
