Financial Analyst

 
  • This position can be based out of our Mississauga or St. Thomas, ON location.

     

    Reporting to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, the Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst is a key financial advisor and leader with vision  for the Product Management Team in the financial planning processes, supporting development and delivery of company short- and long-term objectives.

    What You Will Do:

    • Assisting Product Management Leaders and Team in developing and executing strategy, from financial side

    • Provide team with the right financial data, reports critical for decision making

    • Support the team in developing financial evaluation for business recommendations

    • Driving operational discipline in tracking and analysing monthly actual results vs forecast, risks and opportunities, gap closing processes; Develop and implement assigned financial processes and models

    • Financial analysis and  strategic insights of product categories; Sales Channels/Long- and short-term planning by category and sub-category channels and customers/Pricing and margin; Gross-to-Net analysis

    • Identify and champion process and systems improvements

    • Train business partners to develop their financial acuity and independently use financial tools

    • Support initiatives to improve reporting, analytical, and Business Intelligence capabilities

    • Assist in financial presentations for senior management and multifunctional meetings

    • Occasional travel between sites (Mississauga and St. Thomas) may be required.

    • When required; collaborate with external customers to establish joint fiscal scorecards with shared metrics that produce mutually beneficial results

    • Develop and mentor the team, and build company financial capabilities 

     

    Who You Are:

    • 3  years of post-degree progressive financial management experience, preferably within CPG or similar environment, FP&A, Brands or Sales Finance

    • Proven creative and critical thinking skills

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with comfort working across functions and with levels of management

    • Team player who can influence others within the business and functional teams

    • Ability to work under timelines within a very multifaceted, fast-paced environment

    • Proficient Excel, Power Point skills and experience working with ERP systems

    • Proven outstanding mentoring skills

    • Previous people management experience 

    • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required

    • Accounting Designation completion or Program Enrollment preferred but not required
