Role Summary
The Quality Technician selects and inspects production parts according to product work instructions. Trains personnel and ensures documentation is current and rejected material is tagged, logged and quarantined.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Working towards completion of post-secondary education in Quality or Engineering, or commitment to fulfil Magna Quality training courses.
- Minimum 2 years Q.A. and/or quality inspection and/or practical related manufacturing experience or relative Co-op experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Must have a working knowledge in the application of SPC techniques and interpretation of data.
- Must demonstrate good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be able to read and interpret GD&T data and understand tolerance requirements as seen on a print.
- Able to work all three shifts as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Able to prepare, manage and administrate the use of inspection documentation fastener check sheets etc. for the shop floor.
- Able to use and understand inspection cards and fixtures, Understands and can demonstrate first-off procedures for all processes.
- Audits to ensure appropriate first-off procedures for all processes are followed.
- Continually monitors production for quality problems on a day-to-day basis.
- Ability to understand, monitor and maintain adherence to the non-conforming/containment procedures/processes
- Ability to train and communicate the requirements of the quality systems to production personnel.
- Prepares PPAP documentation for submission to customer.
- Understand and can conduct Layered Process Audits
- Has understanding of ISO/IATF-16949 and ISO14001.
- Must have knowledge in the application of SPC techniques and interpretation of data.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office

Overtime after 40 hours per week.
