President

The President, Masco Canada is responsible for leading the operating company on the path of profitable growth. Reporting directly to the Group President, this Senior Executive will be responsible for the full P&L, including commercial and technical teams, support staff, manufacturing operations and a multi-location footprint. With a talented executive team and a workforce focused on providing best-in-class products and solutions for their customers, the President will lead the development and execution of the operating company’s strategic plans to continue the growth and improve the profitability of the business.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development and execution of the long-range strategic plan and annual operating plan that guides the direction and operation of the business.
  • Directs and guides the tactical activities of the business including, but not limited to, marketing, sales, product development, operations, financial and other administrative aspects associated maximizing growth and profitability of the business.
  • Directs the development and maintenance of the long-range operational forecasts regarding sales, market share, financial requirements, human resource needs, organizational plans, etc. and the projected effects of these forecasts on business investments, revenues and profitability.
  • Maintains a vigilance of and exercises sound business judgment in such areas as market conditions, consumer insight, competitive activities, general economic conditions and related matters.
  • Reviews and directs the development of new market opportunities and requirements for existing and new products. Develops, implements and adjusts strategies to optimize revenue, profitability, and market share across products/services, customers and geographies. Develops awareness for the customer’s products and service needs and maintains or enhances customer relations.
  • Actively develops direct reports and ensures the planning and development of successors for the business unit’s key leadership positions.
  • Provides clear leadership on issues related to asset management, such as inventory, accounts receivable, fixed assets, etc. to optimize asset utilization.
  • Takes action to correct unsatisfactory conditions which may arise in any aspect of the business and directs appropriate action to accomplish or exceed forecast objects.
  • In concert with the business unit functional leaders, directs the commercial and operations of the business assuming lead responsibility for customer, employee and shareholder satisfaction.
  • Champions a clear channel of communication and coordination between functional counterparts in the business unit – marketing, sales, finance, operations, human resources, etc.  Responsible for cross-functional coordination and specification of effective processes and standards for support departments. 
  • Ensures the systems, procedures, and financial controls are established and maintained for the business.
  • Develops and fosters a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture throughout the organization.
  • Represents the organization in civic and professional association responsibilities and activities in the local community, the state, and at the national level where applicable.

 

Masco Corporation is seeking an experienced, strategic-minded General Management executive to lead the full P&L of its Masco Canada Operating Company. The President is responsible for building an enduring business enabled through nurturing the right culture, talent and business systems and processes. He/she will have a demonstrated track record of leading complex product manufacturing businesses with a keen focus on profitable growth and operational excellence. He/she and will have a deep understanding of key deliverables that are important to meeting the expectations of a broad set of customers and consumers. He/she will possess a strong strategic acumen, with experience in general management, product development, sales/marketing, manufacturing and supply chain. This executive will also be a talent-oriented leader of people and will be passionate about building overall organizational capability.

 

The successful candidate will need to have:

  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience, ideally within a complex product manufacturing organization.
  • 15 plus years of progressive, diverse, and successful business experience that touches most of the areas (operations, marketing, sales, etc.) leading to general management. Preference given to candidates with experience in operational and business growth/transformation.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness with Masco Leadership Competencies (Build Great Teams & Organizations; Create Winning Strategies; Execute With Urgency; Get Outside Your Comfort Zone).
  • Undergraduate degree with an MBA or advanced degree preferred.
