Applicants must be willing to work Night Shift, Sunday night to Thursday morning (9pm-7am) with occasional Friday overtime.
Note: Caledon Tubing is located in St. Mary's Ontario.
Starting rate is $19/hr with $0.50/hr shift premium on night shift.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
- To operate all equipment as per Work Instructions safely and responsibly
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS REQUIRED:
Education Prefer minimum high school diploma or GED
Skills Good communication and interpersonal skills
Fluent verbal/written English skills
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
Good computer skills
Ability to troubleshoot
Experience One year experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in Automotive
Knowledge of Quality standards - ISO-9001/TS 16949

SAFETY:

- Working in compliance with the provisions of the OHSA, regulations and internal policies and procedures.
- Using or wearing the equipment, protective devices or clothing that Caledon Tubing requires to be used or worn.
- Reporting to his/her Team Leader the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective device of which the worker is aware and which may endanger him/herself or another worker.
- Reporting to his/her Team Leader any contravention of the OHSA, regulations or Caledon Tubing policies and procedures.
- Reporting to his/her Team Leader the existence of any hazard of which he/she is aware.
- Use only equipment which the worker has been trained to operate safely.
- Not using or operating any equipment, machine, device or thing or working in any manner that may endanger him/herself or another worker.
- Not engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct.
- Equipment to be wiped down and kept clean.
- Floors to be swept and washed by the end of each shift.
- Scrap to be dumped at the end of each shift.
- Garbage cans to be dumped at the end of each shift.
- Work station to be clean and organized.
- Maintain regular, good throughput
- Complete paperwork completely and accurately
- Operate and maintain coiler
- Package as per Final Packaging Matrix
- Issue Tags completely and accurately
- Inform Team Leader and Quality Control if parts are nonconforming
- Weigh scrap and record
- Operate all equipment safely and responsibly
- Operate all equipment as per Work Instructions
- Understanding of reactions needed to the process for out of control parameters
- Understanding the effects of non-conforming product and how to react to ensure that these parts are not shipped to the customer
- Housekeeping
- All other duties as requested by Team Leader
- Perform daily Crane inspections and record
- Ensure compliance to TS16949
- Inspect coatings for rough galfan, scratches and paint burnishing
- Assist Coating Technician as required, such as recording SPC data for hardness, O.D., galfan thickness, paint/primer viscosity, paint thickness, wall thickness, etc.
- Bend test
- MEK rub test
- Destructive weld test
- Pressure testing
