429A/430A Tool Room Lead Hand - Night Shift
Description
Maintain a leadership role within the toolroom. Alongside the Supervisor, guide a team to perform machining and understand the machine build process, while supporting other teams, and growing the capabilities of the group and BOS. Night Shift consists of working four ten-hour shifts, Monday to Thursday with opportunity for overtime.

Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working lead of group, holds both leadership responsibilities and technical hands on responsibilities
- Assist the Toolroom Supervisor in the day to day tasks related to running the toolroom
- Act as the designated back up when the Supervisor is away
- In the absence of the Supervisor, communicate with other leads and Supervisors to ensure consistency and alignment of scope, schedule, and sequencing of activities
- Collaborate with the Supervisor for the scheduling of all tooling required for the Group
- Build quality parts, and distribute manufacturing jobs among group such that the right resource is aligned to the right projects
- Assist with ensuring manufacturing hours and purchases are within the budget or identified with the PM where budget overages are seemingly unavoidable
- Work with team to ensure project checklists are completed and accurate
- Assist with developing Standards/Methods/Processes to be used within the greater manufacturing team to achieve department goals
- Understand project scope and customer specifications fully to ensure team is adhering to them
- Maintain awareness to status, location, and timing of purchased components for all projects assigned to Group
- Ensure that team members are actively participating in whiteboard meetings and that project leads are presenting their status/issues list, following the white board process

REQUIREMENTS
- Licensed 429A/430A Machinist/CNC Programmer with 5+ years’ experience leading/supervising a team
- Strong working knowledge of G-Code, CAD/CAM programming, Mastercam software
- Experience with conversational CNC controllers
- Experience with MILLING machines in a fast paced, precision manufacturing environment.
- Experience with one off, custom precision parts
- Ability to edit existing programs and test new ones
- Strong work ethic, problem solving skills, and a positive team attitude
- Strong ability to interact with members of the team, share information, provide instruction, mentor and collaborate.
- Demonstrated solid communication skills required to interact with leads, supervisors, and management.
- Experience with managing timelines, budgets, ordering/managing material and inventory.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of machining including the ability to decipher mechanical drawings and blueprints
- Knowledge of metallurgy and materials utilized in toolmaking
- Familiarity of Mastercam (most current version) and conversational CNC
- Understanding of custom machine building processes
