Job Description
 
  • Develop and implement process improvements to maintain and enhance the consistency, quality, and performance of Brewery production systems, and to improve key performance indicators.
  • Design and continuously improve Brewery automation and controls systems, supporting upgrades and process changes as necessary.
  • Support brewers and technicians as needed in the troubleshooting of process and controls equipment.
  • Promote and enforce effective organizational change, and ensure engineering, programming, and automation standards are upheld.
  • Support learning and development initiatives to improve the technical knowledge and skills of operators and technicians within area of expertise.
  • Become an expert in the brewing process from start to finish and contribute to the brewery strategy for equipment and process upgrades.
  • Compliance with the Voyageur Plant Optimization (VPO) program and particular focus and compliance to the Maintenance Pillar and all aspects that apply to this role. Where identified by VPO, address production and operations problems regarding brewery controls.
  • Support Key Performance Indicator improvement for utilities and waste water management to maintain legal, safe and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and promote energy and utilities related projects. Handle CAPEX projects as assigned by the Technical Services Manager and act as a liaison between the brewery and Regional Brewery Support.
 
Job Qualifications
 
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer or Electrical Technology preferred), with a strong working knowledge across related engineering fields common to the process industry
  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated ability supporting or developing processes and process control systems
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong technical, problem solving, and process engineering skills
  • Ability to work on multi-functional teams and multi-disciplinary projects with minimal guidance
  • Acts as an owner, results oriented, & strong customer focus skills

Additional Supporting Qualifications

  • Experience in Food & Beverage, Biotech, Pharmaceutical, or Oil and Gas Industries
  • Automation and Process Controls experience using Allen Bradley PLC-5, and Control Logix, Siemens PCS-7, Rockwell-Automation FactoryTalk View, iFIX SCADA database / view node screen development.
  • Experience with process instrumentation, PID control loops, variable frequency drives, pumps, valves, and motors.
