Shipper & Receiver

 

As a key member of the Warehouse team, you will ensure shipment of outgoing goods are planned accurately, efficiently, cost effectively and are shipped on time. Liaison with other supporting departments to ensure Customer requirements are met. Provide support to Shipping functions.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

SHIPPING/RECEIVING

  • Meet internal and external customer expectations by shipping goods in safe, efficient, accurate, cost effective, and timely manner
  • Pick outbound orders and load freight
  • Schedule pick-ups and deliveries as required and provide necessary information (i.e. weight, dimensions, insurance information and documents)
  • Process receiving/shipment transactions including transactions for inter-company and distribution warehouse shipments.
  • Track and address missing or incorrect incoming/outgoing shipments Support internal customers as required by picking Finished Goods for internal use.
  • Accurately, safely, and efficiently receive and deliver incoming goods.

 

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

  • Manage and request replenishment of shipping supplies.
  • Support inventory accuracy by completing component and Finished Goods inventory cycle counts.
  • Optimize warehouse space through regular housekeeping, identifying opportunities to consolidate goods and maximize racking space.

 

SUPPORT

  • Increase overall flexibility to meet customer demands by performing back-up for Shipping Coordinator.

 

HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, including the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, etc.
  • Achieve and maintain forklift operator certification.
  • Safely operate a forklift.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma
  • 1 years of experience in shipping and/or receiving
  • Forklift operation experience is an asset.
  • Basic mathematics skills
  • Computer literate with:
  • Basic to intermediate experience in MS Word
  • Basic to intermediate experience in MS Excel
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to safely lift up to 22.7kg (50 pounds)
  • Knowledge or experience in an ISO environment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) is an asset.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification is required.
  • Mobility: ability to sit
  • Upper Extremity Function: ability to use elbows, wrists, hands and fingers; ability to reach, grip and handle; ability to rotate neck.
  • Lower Extremity Function: ability to bend.
