Sr. Specialist/Sr. Engineer, Network Enabled Capabilities

Position Description:

  • Operate as the Product Owner for Network Enabled Capabilities for defence applications.
  • Develop and manage strategy and roadmaps which prioritize, develop and deliver solutions between Stakeholders and Engineering Resources both Internal and External.
  • Lead significant projects to integrate, optimize and validate Network Enabled Capabilities including intra and inter-vehicle/formation networking, communications and Battle Management Systems.
  • Lead and support customer-facing hands-on demonstrations of capabilities.
  • Develop internal requirements and support the analysis, decomposition, and reconciliation of customer requirements
  • Develop and manage execution of Statements of Work
  • Identify, trade and analyze alternative concepts including internal and external trade studies
  • Provide subject matter expertise in various reviews, and act as mentor to colleagues
  • Coordinate, conduct and document sub-system and system level testing to verify and progress viable designs to a production-ready (TRL7) level
  • Produce technical reports and prepare technical information in support of project deliverables and management requests
  • Develop accurate and complete Bids and Proposals

Position Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • University degree or college diploma in electrical, electronics, mechatronics engineering (or equivalent combination of experience and education)
  • Minimum 5-7 Years relevant experience
  • Hands-on experience with a wide range of communications, networking, situational awareness and software systems including Battle Management, Video and Intelligence applications.
  • A demonstrated ability to conduct hands-on and analytical tasks, including trouble-shooting, and conduct effective customer-facing hands-on demonstrations
  • Technical experience, competence and commitment to maintain current in field
  • Competence and confidence to influence, lead and garner respect of diverse technical resources
  • Thrive in absence of clear requirement or direction – comfortable in pro-active definition
  • Strong ability to liaise, coordinate, collaborate effectively with diverse group of internal and external partners and stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively interact with military customers and S&T community at various levels
  • Eligible to obtain Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with defence radio communication protocols, development and management tools (Intercom, VHF, UHF, MANET, SATCOM, etc.)
  • Experience with IP Networking hardware, protocol, configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Battle Management Applications configuration, maintenance and usage.
  • Experience with GDLS-C IRAD practices, processes, considerations
  • Currently hold Level II (Secret) Security Clearance
