Equals launched Bangarang Hard Seltzer in 2020, which has grown to be one of the fastest-growing RTD brands in Ontario. In 2021, Equals launched Shake Lager, which won a gold medal in its first appearance in the Canadian Brewing Awards. Role Summary

As an important member of the management team, the HR Generalist is responsible for all aspects of strategic, operational, and administrative HR functions. This opportunity will focus on the development of HR infrastructure from the ground level to build a department that focuses on the positive culture and that can grow with the company. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, have the desire to support the business and the people working in it, and is ready to make an impact.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and executing the recruitment strategy for a variety of postings and jobs throughout the organization
  • Maintain accuracy and confidentiality while completing new hire paperwork, new hire database entries, and benefits enrollment and administration
  • Work closely with Finance and other department heads to complete bi-weekly payroll
  • Support the organization's Health & Safety initiatives including managing the anonymous survey, hazard identification, general policy creation and updates, and WSIB management
  • Support the training and development of new and existing employees through tracking and training development
  • Support business and staff through the onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Stay current on legislative changes, maintain current policies and develop new policies as required
  • Complete a weekly report on HR KPIs and analytics and support other departments by pulling together reports as requested. Strategically analyze data to support strategic plans for the future
  • Develop and execute a variety of Employee Engagement Initiatives throughout the year
  • Provide support and information to employees regarding their pay, benefits, and the interpretation of a variety of HR-related policies and procedures
  • Lead and organize the Quarterly Pulse Survey by posting the survey, actively collecting responses, organizing data in a meaningful and confidential manner, and supporting departments with their understanding and development of outcome actions.
  • Report to the senior leadership team on important issues or opportunities
  • Participate as an active member of our Joint Health & Safety Committee

 

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent
  • 3+ years of relevant and progressive experience in HR, preferably in manufacturing
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Constantly learning and improving your knowledge, skills and abilities from past experiences
  • Highly organized with strong project management and planning skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with sound judgment and discretion
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to execute tasks at all levels and desire to make a positive impact on the company.
  • Team player with the ability to make decisions and positively influence others
  • Tech savvy with fluency in systems and platforms such as MS Office
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for process improvement and making efficiencies
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with knowledge of forecasting methods
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CHRP) will be an asset
