?Tax Manager is a role in our Corporate Finance team.

You are a University grad with a degree in Business or Accounting and have earned your professional accounting CPA designation. You have at least 7 years of corporate tax experience with experience in transfer pricing. You have completed the In-Depth Transfer Pricing Course.

Reporting to our VP and CFO, support the companies within the Trudell Medical Group to stay focused on their businesses and operations by effectively managing Canadian, US and international tax compliance including transfer pricing documentation and other tax services. Specifically, you will focus on:

Tax Compliance

  • Monitor deadlines and prepares federal, provincial and state business income tax returns including Canadian SR & ED Claims and foreign reporting filings
  • Calculate Quarterly/Annual statutory & consolidated tax provisions, and current & future tax asset and liability balances
  • Prepare annual supporting tax working papers and related note disclosures for all Trudell Medical Group entities
  • Manage, defend and resolve government tax audits minimizing audit adjustments
  • Respond to tax notices and resolve tax matters in a timely manner
  • Maintain up to date calculations for various tax balances including Safe income, GRIP and Capital Dividend accounts
  • Ensure completion of annual T5 and other filings
  • Liaise with tax consultants, general counsel and auditors on tax matters/planning

Tax Planning

  • Monitor corporate organizational changes and tax legislative developments/changes in all operating tax jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with tax filing requirements
  • Determine and communicate impact of tax exposures/risks and benefits
  • Develop and advise on tax planning strategies including tactics to improve tax reporting processes
  • Assist with tax planning, special projects, international expansion as requested
  • Respond to various ad hoc research requests

Transfer Pricing

  • Prepare cross-border transactions analyses both periodically and annually, monitoring and recommending need for any transfer pricing adjustments
  • Ensure global documentation of Transfer Pricing Transactions is complete by legislated deadlines
  • Coordinate product-specific transfer pricing analyses

Administration

  • Monitor all tax correspondence, instalments and other routine tax administration
  • Assist with other financial projects as requested
