Job Description
The Technical Sales Rep facility plays an extremely important role in the success of the company. The role will work closely with distribution customers, contractors, municipal clients, and partner with internal team members to grow and promote the sales and use of ADS products. This role is the first line of contact with new and existing external clients and emphasis is placed on building trust and long-term business relationships. The role requires an outgoing personality who has the ability to become technically proficient in ADS products as they relate to Civil Engineering, Water Management and Water Retention/Detention. We are looking for a hunter, a goal oriented, results driven and dedicated individual who can work well within a team environment with Engineers and Technical specialists is needed. The role is responsible for maintaining and promoting a positive ADS Brand and successfully interacting with external and internal stakeholders by practicing ADS Core Values. The role reports directly to the Regional Sale Manager.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
ü Close and grow sales through professional education and communication with new and existing client base.
ü Manage, interpret, and advise clients needs and requirement in a very fast paced work environment.
ü Provide detailed technical information and support to clients.
ü Prepare quotes and respond to clients needed and inquires in a timely manner.
ü Participate and initiate technical meetings across the region, targeting engineers, distributors, owners and municipal officials via presentations, webinars and one-on-one meetings.
ü Maintain and input data into SalesForce.
ü Attend and participate in trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events.
ü Project coordination, planning and scheduling support of deliveries and provide support on site as required.
ü Expand market awareness of ADS products and solutions by communicating specifications, features, and benefits to a wide audience.
ü Ensure a Safe Work environment for all team members and maintain a safe working record, while following all safety protocols
ü Understand and practice ADS CORE VALUES
Job Skills: This position should possess the following skills / knowledge:
ü Extremely strong communication skills in English (verbal and written) and excellent interpersonal skills. Fluent in French would be an asset but not necessary.
ü Estimating and quoting stormwater projects
ü Civil site plan reviews
ü Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
ü Knowledge of related codes and regulations in region (CSA, ASTM, AASHTO)
ü Ability to communicate effectively at different levels externally and internally.
ü Strong understanding of Water Management Solutions
ü Organizational skills and ability to plan, forecast and pivot to meet sales goals.
ü Superb time management skills and ability to plan in advance and prioritizing demands to meet client needs.
Educational Requirements:
v University or College diploma or equivalent
Preferred Experience or Skills:
v 3-5 Years of Sales Experience in a Technical Field
v Presentation skills
v Salesforce knowledge
v Civil Engineering
Additional Requirements:
v Frequent travel required within designated sales territory (75%) and additional travel within Canada and into the United States (10%)
v Home based role, suitable home office space.
