Job Description


Responsible for ensuring the selection of the most appropriate goods and services on
the basis of price, quality, and services support.


> Purchase and negotiate materials, equipment, and supplies
> Ensure timely release of purchase orders to support schedules
> Expedite and verify deliveries
> Contact vendors
> Assist in continuous improvement initiatives
> Monitor vendor quality and delivery performance, and assist with measurement
systems feedback
> Provide status reports and summaries as required
> Maintain history of supplies, goods, equipment, and services
> Handle quality issues and returns to vendors in a timely manner
> Communicate with department planners of deviations from requested delivery
dates or availability
> Ensure conformance to all procedures and requirements
> Maintain accurate vendor and parts files
> Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills & Experience:

> 3 to 5 years related experience
> Experience expediting and coordinating material deliveries
> Proficient in use of ERP/MRP software and Microsoft Office applications
> Ability to maintain good working relationships
> Familiar with purchasing practices and procedures
> Able to work well under minimal supervision
Strong organizational skills and time management skills
> Strong attention to detail
> Superior interpersonal skills
> Positive attitude
> Highly motivated to work with diverse technical group
> Familliar with Lean Manufacturing techniques
Educational or Academic Requirements:
> College diploma in relevant area
