Responsible for reading engineering and architectural drawings, sketches, and work specifications to be performed; and laying out, measuring, and welding metal according to drawings or templates.
Responsibilities:
> Weld components using GTAW welding equipment
> Operate light metalworking machines such as shears, brakes, punches, drill presses and rotators, including welders to assemble various aircraft components
> Use weld fixtures to accurately complete welded assemblies as per drawings and specifications
> Fit and join sheet metal parts using riveting, welding, soldering, and similar equipment to fabricate products
> Grind and buff seams, joints, and rough surfaces
> Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to specifications
> Perform all work in accordance with Health and Safety policies
> Perform other related duties as assigned
Skills & Experience:
> Minimum 3 years experience in a related role
> Experience with welding, metal work, or working with composite materials
> Ability to read drawings and work orders
> Ability to successfully complete test of mechanical aptitude
> Possess basic measuring and calculating skills
> Effective communication and problem solving skills
> Ability and willingness to work extended hours as required
> Ability to concentrate on fine details and repetitive tasks for long periods
> Ability to work alone as well as in a team
> Ability to follow instructions
