This position will be located at our Manufacturing Plant in Tillsonburg, Ontario.
Due to the nature of this role, this is an on-site role with no opportunities to work from home.
Job Summary:
As the Food Product Developer (frozen) at Inovata Foods, your contribution is pivotal to our success. This position entails collaborating and working closely with the Research and Development team, leveraging technical expertise and practical skills using hands on work to innovate and enhance our range of recipes for our valued customers.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate product concepts and recipes, considering factors like taste, texture, appearance, and nutritional content.
  • Conduct sensory evaluations, which include sampling with all senses with a wide range of allergens and meats.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to project timelines and budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
  • Ensure that all developed products meet food safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with quality assurance teams to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of experiments, formulations, and specifications.
  • Prepare reports and presentations summarizing project findings, progress, and recommendations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and ingredient innovations, including attending trade shows.
  • Contribute to the ideation and implementation of innovative food concepts and solutions.
  • Hands on work by building samples in our test kitchen.
  • Assist in preparing and presenting customer innovation sessions.
  • Assist in creating and revising the Bill of Materials.
  • Assist with onboarding new raw materials with QA/Purchasing.
  • Attend trials with R&D Director at both manufacturing plants; Edmonton and Tillsonburg.
  • Conduct research on market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor products to identify new product opportunities.

Requirements:
We are looking for a unique individual with a passion for cooking, developing recipes and working within a team.
While we would like this individual to have experience in a food manufacturing environment, we are open to a variety of experiences.

  • Completion of relevant post-secondary education or equal experience.
  • Experience working within any food industry including restaurants is preferred.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a food manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • HACCP Certification is considered and asset.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
