The Buyer II is responsible for managing key supplier relationships and procurement of essential commodities, ensuring timely project delivery, budget control, and contributing to margin improvements. This role supports both strategic and tactical purchasing, focusing on maintaining the procure-to-pay (P2P) process in a dynamic, project-based, custom-engineered environment. The Buyer II collaborates with project managers, engineers, logistics, finance, quality assurance, and sales teams.
This position is part of the Aria Filtra Supply Chain Team and will be hybrid in London, Ontario, or Guelph, Ontario.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
- Own the commodity management process for the assigned categories, from upfront sales support, through the Purchase 2 Pay (P2P) Process including but not limited to: RFQs, order placement, order managements and reconciliation of; shipments, invoicing, warranty claims, etc.
- Negotiate and procure buyout commodities (valves, instruments, compressors, etc.).
- Review requisitions and Engineering releases for completeness to ensure items and services quoted are a match, specifications are met, and the scope of work is entirely captured
- Qualify, develop, and approve suppliers using an established supplier qualification process, while ensuring contract adherence.
- Maintain accurate Project Procurement Plans and Project Materials Budgets.
- Support strategic plans in support of managing the total spend of specific categories and drive continual cost reduction.
- Engage and drive the disciplines to engage with internal owners and vendors to develop methods of cost reduction.
The essential requirements of the job include
- Post- Secondary in Business or Supply Chain Management, with a minimum of 3-5 years of Procurement/Category Experience.
- MRP / ERP materials planning system experience i.e.: SAP/LN.
- Knowledge of Project Life Cycle.
- Strong user experience with Microsoft Office applications; especially Excel, Word, MS Project, and Reporting.
- Ability to travel internationally for business needs, 5 to 10% of the time.
It would be great if you also possess:
- Prefer CSCMP and/or ISM certification or commitment to pursue on a yearly basis.
- Project Business Experience a plus.
- LN experience a plus.
- Strong digital literacy (data analysis, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, statistical tools)
- Proven organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both independently and in a group setting.
