We are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to join the team at our window manufacturing plant in London.

Job Description

  • Identify, correct, maintain and improve quality standards with accountability for a complete operational area within the plant
  • Coach and lead Production Associates and Team Leads to drive attainment of safety, housekeeping, quality, delivery, and productivity targets
  • Identify, correct and maintain quality standards
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments
  • Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for training
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports, in order to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
  • Identify and resolve barriers to production throughput

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a supervisory role preferably within a unionized manufacturing setting
  • Experience with continuous (one piece) flow manufacturing, labor paced production, standard work, and pull systems highly desirable, in addition to experience leading production in a made-to-order manufacturing environment
  • Experience with implementation and sustainment of a 5S program
  • Exposure to Lean manufacturing concepts (6 sigma, Kaizen etc)
  • Able to perform time studies and make recommendations to improve throughput
  • Proven team building and change management skills required
  • Demonstrate integrity, flexibility, sound judgment, respect for people, and good critical thinking skills
