HR Generalist

Introduction 

The HR (Human Resources) department is a group who is responsible for?managing the entire employee life cycle?(i.e., recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training/developing, offboarding employees and administering employee benefits). This is a generalist role which includes recruiting, employee relations/conflict resolution, HRIS systems administration, performance reviews and training and development as well as partnering with department leaders to grow and develop their organizations. You should be seen as a trusted HR resource for the many challenges our leaders face in this dynamic industry.

Position Overview: 

  • Create and maintain employee records within the company HRIS system (HiBob) 

  • Assist with onboarding of all new employees: ordering scrubs, shoes, activating key fobs, booking Health and Safety, IT training  

  • Ensure eligible employees are enrolled in benefits program and enrolment forms are completed leaning on our Payroll Specialist for support 

  • Send email reminders to leaders to complete 3-month reviews and annual performance reviews using HiBob 

  • In conjunction with the HR Director, support terminations and offboarding process 

  • Update the HRIS with approved leave times (sick, personal, maternity leave, vacation etc)  

  • Prepare and amend employment documents i.e. employee status changes (promotions, role changes, contract agreements, update work permits and follow up where necessary)  

  • Assist the Payroll & Benefits specialist by providing relevant employee information i.e. holiday and sick days taken, last day worked, banking info  

  • Manage seating plan and layout in offices, ensuring all employees and newly onboarded employees have everything they need to do their work  

  • Update company organization charts 

  • Work with recruitment team to post jobs on various job boards, follow up with lead candidates and ensuring our leaders have the resources they require  

  • Assist the recruitment team in building an applicant pool pipeline of candidates for roles we recruit for year round  

  • Participate in interviews with leaders on various roles in particular with internal candidates   

  • Assist with building our employer brand (a company people strive to work for) 

  • Provide leader support in employee conflict situations (employee relations) and/or leaves, WSIB reporting and claims  

Qualifications:  

  • Post secondary education with a focus on Human Resources (HR designation is an asset)  

  • 1 year experience supporting specific business lines or depts with an organization  

  • 2-5 years experience working in a manufacturing industry 

  • Demonstrated ability as a strong team player, with the ability to work independently 

  • Flexibility and adaptability to frequently changing priorities and deadlines 

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills 

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) 

  • Motivation and strong sense of personal initiative/sense of urgency 

  • Strong computer skills (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) 

  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and applicant tracking systems. High comfort level with software tools. 

  • Ability to exhibit discretion in handling confidential / sensitive information 

  • Able to work onsite in Aylmer, Ontario
