If you are a power electronics engineer who wants to work on technically challenging, real world designs—not incremental tweaks or highly siloed tasks—this role offers the opportunity to grow your expertise while contributing to technology that protects public health on a global scale.
As part of our Hardware Engineering team, you will design, prototype, and test power electronics for ultraviolet (UV) light sources that support engineering and product development initiatives for water and wastewater treatment systems. These products treat water and wastewater for over one billion people worldwide.
This is a hands on technical role where you will work under the guidance of senior design specialists while taking ownership of core design and testing activities. You will collaborate in a team based environment to develop, enhance, and sustain technologies that form the backbone of our UV systems.
Why This Role Is Different
Real engineering exposure You will work on switching power conversion topologies, control circuits, prototyping, and lab validation in real products used globally.
Growth through mentorship Youll work alongside experienced senior engineers while being expected to execute key tactical elements independently.
Meaningful impact Your work directly supports systems that safeguard clean water and environmental health.
Collaborative technical culture Youll partner cross functionally with engineering peers, interns, and product development teams in a supportive environment.
What Youll Do
In this mid-level Electronic Hardware Designer role, you will contribute to the development and sustainment of advanced power electronics for UV light sources. Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting in the design of power electronics for ultraviolet light sources under the supervision of a senior design specialist.
Executing project tasks with oversight while independently driving technical deliverables.
Assisting with the selection and application of switching power conversion topologies and control circuits for power circuit design.
Prototyping and testing power electronic assemblies in a lab environment.
Supporting thermal design, analysis, and testing activities.
Creating and maintaining schematics, bills of materials, and engineering drawings.
Preparing technical reports documenting test results and findings.
Troubleshooting electronic assemblies and contributing to structured failure analysis.
Using programming tools to program and debug microcontroller based devices.
Collaborating effectively with peers, interns, and cross functional partner
What You Bring
Required experience and skills:
BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant education and experience.
5+ years of experience in electronics design.
Strong understanding of switching power conversion topologies and control methods.
Experience with PC based CAD tools for schematic capture and printed circuit board design.
Knowledge of power electronics testing methodologies.
Hands on experience prototyping and testing electronic board assemblies.
Why Join Us
Youll join a team focused on developing and sustaining core UV technologies used around the world. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands on lab work, solving practical design challenges, and growing deeper technical capability in power electronics within a meaningful application space.
We offer:
• Flexible working hours
• Professional onboarding and training options
• A collaborative team environment
• Career development opportunities
• Health benefits
The base salary range for this role is $84k-116k CAD annually. Factors that will be considered for the salary offered to the successful candidate include internal equity, years of direct job related and skill experience, and relevant job market.
