What you’ll be doing
This position is responsible to coordinate the handling of documentation and advances for clearance, delivery of freight after clearance, and monitoring and control all entry/entry summary preparation to ensure shipments are entered in accordance with the Canada Customs Act.

You will be responsible for
- Provide the highest level of customer service to clients, vendors, and service providers and nurture client relationship by providing direction to clients on importing commodities into Canada whilst complying with the Incoterms and CBSA regulations.
- Accurate preparation of customs and supporting internal documents, review accuracy of entries performed by other team members, and guide the junior and intermediate Air/Ocean Customs Analyst on complex transactions.
- Complete high volume of entries, perform tariff research and classification with strong understanding of the PGA’s with ability to research requirements.
- Ability to resolve issues arise with Customs clearance (reject notices, eManifest errors, paper packages, RMD Corrections), and document errors for customs account analysts via our Error Reporting process.
- Complete final Invoicing of customs entries to CBSA, clear and trace shipments by understanding of all FTA’s and when to apply them to shipments.
- Request payment, original documents, and sending of delivery instructions as required.
- Above average written and verbal communication skills.
- Showcase your skills with Microsoft utilizing programs such as Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
- Identify potential challenges/risks and solve problems efficiently or work with Leaders for a solution.
- Foster a fast paced culture leading by example in terms of accountability and continuous improvement within the team.
- Effectively prioritize and manage the team multiple and personal tasks to meet KPI's and deadlines.
- To provide the highest level of customer service by leading and mentoring, fostering a positive and productive work environment and resolving escalated issues as needed.
What we need from you
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum three years of relevant work experience.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain CSCB Certified Customs Specialist course is an asset and is preferred.
- Intermediate MS Office experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of customs tariff, all FTA application, and Incoterms.
- Ability to accurately classify goods.
- Thorough understanding of the import process for Air and Ocean imports from origin to destination.
- Knowledge of CCAPP with the ability to learn more complex functions.
- Maintain working knowledge of both current and pending customs and other agency regulations and policies.
- Must be legally eligible to work for the Company at all times.
- Valid Passport and ability and desire to occasionally travel if required to other offices locations in Canada/USA/MX.
