General Duty - Production Associate

Purpose

Our production people are the cornerstone of our manufacturing family. The successful candidates will report to the Shift Supervisor. You will be primarily responsible for operating equipment and assembling components in all areas of our secondary operations. You will be responsible for preliminary quality inspection to ensure that product meets customer quality and performance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safety: Safety checks as per schedule; Assist with Performing PM checks and repairs (robot crashes, tool detects, replace broken drills, etc.) or to inform maintenance when required.

• Housekeeping: Maintain a safe, clean, and environmentally sound work area.; Remove machine turnings, stacking finished goods, garbage removal; Clean-up work areas, wash station down, clean screens and empty trays.

• General Machining: Operation of secondary equipment; Assemble, sort and pack of parts; Part quality inspection, removing any loose flash and burrs; Carry out any required tooling changes – set-up new drills and replace old drills; Gauge castings; Place audit tags on baskets.

• Record keeping: Count scrap and fill out daily scrap sheets; Data entry in Plex ERP system; Other duties as required, including special projects as they arise.

Skills/Experience/Education

• You will have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.

• Demonstrated mechanical ability and knowledge in the use of hand tools as well as knowledge of machine operations (drilling, reaming, tapping, tools, etc.) are required.

• You must be flexible to work in any of the areas of responsibility, able to work rotating shifts and the necessary overtime, and be a team-oriented problem solver.

• You must also be able to participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement challenges.

• You will be quality focused and able to work independently and as part of a team.

• The home base for this position will be at our Manufacturing Facilities in Strathroy, Ontario, Canada.
