Job Summary

We’re seeking a dynamic, proactive, and seasoned team player to join our Purchasing department. The perfect candidate for the Buyer role is a motivated, enthusiastic individual who enjoys engaging with suppliers and overseeing inventory.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluate P21 Purchase Order Requirement Generation and place orders for all consumable parts according to MRP parameters.
• Keep precise records of consumables and item maintenance data.
• Maintain continuous communication and follow-up with suppliers and internal customers
• Adhere to expediting processes and ensure suppliers meet their delivery commitments.
• Resolve supply shortages promptly through substitutions when necessary.
• Prepare, analyze, and respond to inventory and cost report requests.
• Address any instances of missing documents, shipments, and deliveries through problem-solving.
• Analyze reports and assist in managing slow-moving inventory by either returning it to vendors or finding suitable substitutions.
• Participate in meetings to ensure the effective execution of customer forecasts and address any inventory issues.
• Communicate inbound and outbound priorities effectively with the Warehouse and Logistics Team.
• Actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Job Qualifications

• 3-5years of progressive experience in a purchasing or supply chain capacity.
• Proven ability to consistently achieve inventory management objectives.
• Experience in distribution, manufacturing, industrial or agriculture sectors is an asset.
• Customer service oriented, driven by meeting and exceeding clients’ expectations.
• Understanding of critical packaging commodities, such as film, tapes, corrugated, bags, angle board, trays, health and safety supplies.
• Effective influencing and negotiation skills to drive results.
• Strong commitment to work and a collaborative team spirit.
• Confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word/Excel) and familiarity with MRP systems. Working knowledge of P21 is an asset.
• Strong understanding of inventory management and inventory valuation concepts.
• CPP certification from SCMA is a plus.
