Role Summary
Works closely with staff specialists, customers, and suppliers to lead and assess requirements for new and existing manufacturing processes within the plant. The Coordinator establishes process requirements regarding machine, material and methods in the quoting stage, launch stage, as well as engineering changes and continuous improvement to new and current production. The Coordinator utilizes standard processing tools to evaluate new and existing processes to design the best equipment to meet our business needs. The Engineering Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the project from its inception, through PPAP, production, and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare capital quotation packages for approval as required.
- Capable of processing customer product through the entire production process.
- Develop, plan, manage, and implement various projects for safety, quality, ergonomic, and production improvements
- Supplies any bill of material/assembly tooling process changes to Program Team.
- Supplies cost and timing of assigned engineering changes to Program Team and/or Sales Coordinator.
- Capable of managing and leading projects from inception to completion – timing, concept, feasibility, design, construction, try-out, launch, buy-off, budget, prototyping, programs engineering changes and the cross functional review of projects.
- Responsible for PFMEA development and maintenance for assembly process, including cross functional review of related control plans
- Prepares reports, charts, and other documentation such as combination tables, periodic and standardized work charts
- Participate as required in all ISO/IATF-16949 activities related to area of responsibility
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering with a min of 2 years of experience.
- Must have strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills.
- Experience in Manufacturing Assembly.
- Experience in processing equipment from inception to launch.
- Experience with various welding processes (e.g. Mig, Spot, Projection, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience in TPS or other Lean Manufacturing systems is preferred.
- Ability to use CAD software such as AutoCAD and Solidworks.
- Must be knowledgeable in APQP, PDP, GD&T, PPAP, & PFMEA documentation and processes
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with Tooling Build Standards, Machine Build Standard and Check Fixture Standards
- Must have a track record of building relationships with internal and external sources which are founded on trust, collaboration and cooperation.

EQUIPMENT and/or PRODUCT FAMILIARITY:
Software: Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and other Windows based environments. Ability to use CAD
software such as AutoCAD and Solidworks.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Under the general direction of the Department Manager: must be able to work independently, conferring regularly with plant personnel and outside contractors. Works in an office environment but may be exposed to some elements such as working in confined/awkward positions with exposure to noise/temperature/heights. A valid driver’s license and passport are required, as day travel is a requirement of the job; overnight travel occasionally.
