Japanese Interpreter

Arvin Sango Canada, Inc. (ASCI) is an automotive component manufacturer, specializing in vehicle exhaust systems and welded structural components.

Due to the international nature of the company, we have an opening for a contract full time Japanese Interpreter for our London, Ontario facility. This position requires an applicant with experience in all areas of translating and interpreting, in professional, casual, and technical areas.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Translate a wide variety of written materials from Japanese to English and English to Japanese, including emails, letters, bulletins, forms, notices and training materials.
• Attend meetings and conferences, interpreting when required.
• Translate emails, technical diagrams, bulletins, and other documents to support the our Japanese employees.
• Close the gap between Japanese and English employees, ensuring clear and open communication.
• Assist in completion of administrative duties.

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Holidays
• Overtime
• Weekend availability

Job Qualifications

• Proficient in English and Japanese usage, including excellent grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, and comprehension.
• Experience translating technical information.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• ability to interact and communicate effectively across various departments.
• Experience as a professional interpreter.

Education

• Formal education not required, but considered an asset.
