The selected candidate will be joining the plant manufacturing engineering team responsible for creative solutions in operations and the continuous improvement of plant processes through automation and the newest technology.

Position Overview

Responsible to increase productivity and efficiency through the application of engineering principles to improve equipment, components, fixtures, operations, and procedures relating to the production process and the quality of the product.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manage assigned or approved projects, ensuring budgetary compliance and achievement of completion deadlines.
  2. Prepares and maintains production standards and associated documents, process sheets, applying standard industrial engineering principles.
  3. Provides methods, instructions, and training to ensure the successful operation of equipment, tools, fixtures, and control systems.
  4. Lead Kaizen / CI projects to improve plant efficiency through; root cause analysis, cycle time reduction, OEE improvement, and labour savings.
  5. Participates in equipment design for capacity improvements.
  6. Comply with company policies and procedures supporting the quality management system, environmental management system, and health and safety.

 

 

Educational Requirements and Skills

  1. Degree / Diploma in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering / Technology.
  2. Two to Five years’ automotive manufacturing experience.
  3. In-depth knowledge of machine design and hydraulic systems.
  4. Knowledge of; robotics, ergonomics, safety systems, pneumatics, laser cutting, MIG, CAD, and resistance welding.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
