The Gerber Operator is responsible for the effective operation of the Gerber Profile Die Board Cutting Machine. Preparing high-quality dies and tooling for use on the cut & crease presses. In addition, the job holder is required to assist with all other functions in the pre-press area.

Here are some of the different activities you’ll be asked to do: 

  • Program die boards, counter plates, and tooling.
  • Machine tools on CNC machine.
  • Calibrate and ensure the accuracy of the finished product.
  • Schedule jobs in order of importance/delivery dates.
  • Ensure all quality checks are completed and the die tooling meets the standards.
  • Assist with knife and rubber dies and assemble stripping and blanking tools.
  • Responsible for all scheduled maintenance.
  • Ensure that all requirements of JHG Quality Management System are followed.
  • Ensure all applicable Health & Safety Management System policies & procedures and Environmental (ISO 14001) Management System policies & procedures are followed.

If you’ve got:

  • 2 years of previous experience operating a Gerber Machine or Computer-Controlled Machine an asset.
  • Previous experience with Tool and Die making within the printing and packaging industry preferred.
